Top New England Corn Mazes

Published: September 1, 2017

Pumpkin spice latte, apple festivals, the leaves changing color - the list of reasons to love the fall in New England is long. For those who like a few twists and turns in their seasonal celebrations, corn mazes should be at the top of the list (if they are not already). If this is you and you find yourself in this part of the country during fall, here are five of the best corn mazes in the region.

Salisbury Farm
Johnston, RI (September 2 - October 31)

The Corn Maze at Salisbury Farm was the first maze of it’s kind in New England. With more than a mile of paths in about five acres of corn, The Corn Maze at Salisbury Farm has challenged memories, team work, and sense of direction since 1998. Thousands of people entered the maze last year, most of them got out.

Ekonk Hill Turkey Farm's Corn Maze
Moosup, CT (September 2 - October 29)

This year's theme is 'Under the Sea', and the corn maze features miles of twisting, turning paths to walk that can be a challenge during the daytime hours. For those who are looking for a true challenge, grab a flashlight and go on a Saturday night in October.

Thunder Road Farm Corn Maize
Corrina, ME (September 16 - October 29)

If you and your family find yourselves near central Maine starting in the middle of September, this corn maze is one not to miss. This year's maze design is a nod to Maine Cabin Masters, and is one maze that can be completed in two parts for the little ones who might not make it through the whole thing.

Mike's Maze
Sunderland, MA (September 9 - November 5)

Mike's Maze is an eight acre corn maze, and this year's design celebrates 40th anniversary of the Voyager Missions with a postcard message - "Greetings from Earth, the Pale Blue Dot". If you want a different perspective than the inside of the maze, check out the view from their walk-in kaleidoscope.

The Maize at Sherman Farm
Conway, NH (September 24 - October 30, weekends only)

After 50 years of corn mazes, Sherman Farm knows a thing or two about how to design them. It is 12 acres of labyrinthian design to challenge even the person with the best sense of direction, with three phases for all ability levels.

Gaines Farm Corn Maze
Guilford, VT (September 17 - 30 October, weekends only except for Columbus Day)

The Gaines Farm Corn Maze features seven acres of twists and turn, along with corn cannons, pumpkin bowling and a cow train. If you want to stroll through the maze in the evening, check out the Twilight Maize Walk. Are you looking for a fright? Then the Haunted Maize is a must.
